Through his groundbreaking work with the Flying Burrito Brothers, Byrds, International Submarine Band, and as a solo artist, Gram Parsons single handedly created the country rock and alt country genres. A true visionary, Parsons was largely behind the Byrds' pioneering 1969 country-rock crossover LP Sweetheart of the Rodeo, and directly influenced the Rolling Stones' embrace of country styles.
